Overview

Sahil's mechanical work sits in three places: Onshape models for FRC Team 6925, a motorized standing desk done as design practice, and parts printed on a Bambu Lab H2S. The mechanism models and the desk are not in a public repository. What is public is a small set of print files he pushed for MakerWorld.

Problem

Team mechanisms have to be modelled where the rest of 6925 can open them. Onshape is the tool he uses for that. Separately, the standing desk is practice: a full mechanism, not a match part. Printed parts need a file someone else can download, which is what the MakerWorld set is for.

What he built

The public repository mw-publish-tmp is described in its own README as temporary files for a MakerWorld publish. It contains two parts:

  • Desk cable comb — desk_cable_comb.stl, a 3MF, an isometric render, and a photograph-style image of a white print. The render shows six openings. The white image shows four. They ship in the same folder; this site does not treat them as one revision.
  • Phone dock — phone_dock.stl, a 3MF, an isometric render, and an image of a white printed tray.

Those files are copied into this site so the pages still work if the temporary repo is deleted. The source repository has no license file. Downloads and a 3D preview of each STL are on the research pages.

The FRC mechanisms and the standing desk do not have public exports here. Their slots are on the research index, waiting for an Onshape link, a STEP or STL, or a render.

Process

Day to day, the CAD tool is Onshape. Prints run on a Bambu Lab H2S. Publishing, for the two parts above, was a GitHub folder of STL, 3MF, and images. A private desktop project, Claude CodeCad, is the software side of the same work: an OpenSCAD solid pipeline that drives Onshape from a Windows app. Its source is not public. Vantage also documents a separate CAD path, for Onshape and Fusion 360, in docs/CLAUDE_CODE_CAD.md. That note is about Vantage's tools, not the private Windows app.
