Vantage CAD tools

Public notes on driving Onshape or Fusion 360 from Claude Code through Vantage's CAD tools. Not the private Windows app.

docs/CLAUDE_CODE_CAD.md is a public Vantage document. Its header describes driving Onshape or Fusion 360 from Claude Code: Vantage's CAD tools run over MCP, and those tools call Onshape's API or a local Fusion add-in. The note says there is no mock geometry, and it says the tools are not certified engineering software. It tells the reader to use a disposable document the first time and not to point a first run at the competition robot.

The file distinguishes a part pipeline (local manufacturing checks, then one generated FeatureScript feature) from per-operation sketch and extrude calls. It also discusses Onshape's published yearly API allowance and links the Onshape limit documentation. Read the file for the numbers. They are not restated here, so this page cannot drift from the source.

This write-up is not Claude CodeCad. That project is a private Windows application built around an OpenSCAD pipeline. The Vantage note stays in the Vantage repository.
