Engineering & CAD Skills Library
Rules I give my AI agents for CAD and mechanical work: Onshape (sketching, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, configurations, API), 3D printing fits and strength, mechanical design (fasteners, tolerances, shafts, bearings, gears, belts), simulation sanity checks, and a design-review process. Free to use with your own AI tools.

Install the Engineering & CAD Skills Library as skills for yourself. 1. Download the PDF: https://sahiljpatel.vercel.app/resources/engineering-cad-skills-library.pdf 2. Read the Contents page. Each listed name (for example `design-concept-gate`, `onshape-sketching-and-constraints`, `3d-print-fits-and-tolerances`) is one skill, and its section in the PDF is that skill's full rules. 3. For every skill in the Contents, create a separate skill using that exact name as its id. Copy its section text verbatim as the instructions, and write a one-line "when to use" description from its first paragraph. Use whatever skill or rules format you support (for example a SKILL.md file per skill, Cursor rules, Claude Code skills, or custom instructions). 4. Do not merge, summarize or rewrite the rules, and skip any you already have with identical content. 5. When finished, list every skill you added, grouped by the PDF's categories, and note any you could not add and why.
